1986 Suzuki RG400 Gamma HK31A-104834 w/6,781 km (4,205 mi) | Square-4 2-stroke | Japanese GP replica.
Starts right up, idles well and clean throttle response. Overall riding dynamics are good. Signals and instruments all work and the bike is fundamentally sound.
The Suzuki RG400 Gamma is one of the defining Japanese sport bikes of the 1980s—lightweight, sharp-handling, and powered by an exotic square-four 2-stroke engine derived directly from Suzuki’s Grand Prix racing program.
The RG400 motor is a compact twin-crank “square four” layout with rotary disc valves and Mikuni flat-slide carburetors. Iconic sound and smell / very tractable and really a lot of fun to ride.
This example shows just 6,781 kilometers and presents in overall solid, honest condition with attractive original-style bodywork and graphics. The white/red/black livery is characteristic of Suzuki endurance-racing and period RG Gamma styling from the mid-1980s.
Recently out of long-term storage – needs some cleanup and fresh fluids / tires prior to regular riding. While overall riding dynamics are good, tires are due for replacement and front brake lever is soft – brakes feel linear, like fresh fluid is in order. Rear brakes are softer yet and rear-brake caliper is lightly dragging so fluid and possibly rebuild the caliper.
