1998 Mini Paul Smith Edition VIN: SAXXNWAXKWD161729

The Rover Mini Paul Smith Edition represents one of the most distinctive final chapters of the Classic Mini—where British automotive heritage intersects with late-1990s design culture.

One of just1,800 examples worldwide, this example was delivered new to Japan and is in nice condition showing 47,210 miles (76,140 km). Signature Paul Smith Blue finish and the contrasting citrus-green accents found throughout the glovebox, engine bay, and luggage compartment—subtle but intentional details that reflect Paul Smith’s design philosophy.

Ooriginal Rover Mini bound folio, along with the factory jack and tool kit.

Exterior
Finished in Paul Smith Blue over anthracite alloy wheels. The paint presents well overall with no visible rust. Weathered paint in the hood and some paint loss on the roof. The gold-filled Paul Smith bonnet badge remains intact—an identifying hallmark of the model.

Interior
The interior is in excellent condition and features the higher-specification Paul Smith trim, including black leather upholstery and the signature green glovebox lining. Cabin presentation is clean and consistent with the car’s mileage and use.

Engine & Drivetrain
Powered by the 1275cc SPi engine paired with an automatic transmission. The car retains the characteristic light, responsive driving feel of the late-production Mini, making it equally suitable for urban use or casual weekend driving. Automatic transmission reverse is weak. Works fine normally but backing up-hill from stationary the car struggles.

Collector Notes
– Limited production (1,800 units worldwide)
– Largely Japan-market distribution
– Neat Paul Smith design elements and accessories
