1992 Citroën AX GTi ZF7ZADM0000DM1188 with just 32k miles (52,071 kilometers).
Like the 1994 Peugeot 106 Rallye S1 we brought in 2020, this lightweight hot-hatch is a a great example of how France made the most of a simple / lightweight / rugged platform. At just 785kg (vs. 826kg for the 106 Rallye) the Citroën makes the most of its 100hp 1,4 liter engine.
Fast? No – but engaging car that makes you work for your swiftness. Would be at home on the Autocross track or drivers education days; would make an efficient and fun occasional commuter; or get yourself invited to the Citroën parties oh là là’.
Brakes dragging on last drive. Also progressively harder to start. May need fuel pump / filter – price reduced for hand-person who wants to take this as a project. Or will get to it eventually…
