Classic London Taxi manufactured by Carbodies (took over for Austin). This is a fairly unusual build with LHD and 2.3 liter gasoline motor (Land Rover 10H, 11H, 13H) built for the North American market. Interestingly, this was shipped to Japan when new (1989), used just a couple years and stored since the early 1990’s. Showing 7719 kilometers on the odometer supported by the Japan license records and vintage Michelin TAXI tires. However there is wear on the drivers seat; and fabric on dash, and elsewhere. Also, the car has been repainted from red to black and overall the car is showing it’s age.

London Taxis are a simple and durable design. Maintenance is straightforward and they’re meant to be driven. Add the utility of the large passenger compartment with seating for 5 in the back with room for one more passenger in the front jump-seat and you have an interesting car for personal use and a very usable collector car. Or would be good for business / promotional use.
