1977 Mazda RX3 SP. Starts right up and runs well – no smoke and smooth idle. Racing Beat header / rejetted 4-barrel carb – but rather loud… .
Drivetrain – transmission / clutch / brakes are good. Differential has LSD. Suspension needs some work – while lowered appears essentially stock. I’ve replaced lower control arm bushings which helped handling – have Nolathane bushings for rear springs / upper control arm and pitman arm – they need to be installed and could also use new shocks tie-rod ends.
Interior – Gauges, signals, heater work. Front seats are shabby. A couple cracks in the dash and door panel moderately warped. Rear interior panels have been cut (cleanly) for speakers. I removed the carpet and seats to assess rust. Some rust on left side – under rear seat, in trunk, and at base of driver’s floor pan. But otherwise quite dry/solid.
Exterior – Original paint and SP graphics are worn. Glass is good. No bumpers. Wrinkle on right-rear fender and both front fenders have minor damage. Front valence has been cut to accommodate front air-dam. Patina? Yes.
