1985 Kawasaki KR250S KR250A-011781 ~21,000 miles / 33,922 km | Tandem-Twin 2-stroke

One of the more technically fascinating Japanese sport bikes of the 1980s, the Kawasaki KR250S was developed directly from Kawasaki’s Grand Prix racing program and remains unlike virtually anything else produced during the era.

At the heart of the KR250S is Kawasaki’s unusual liquid-cooled “Tandem Twin” engine — a compact 2-stroke design with two cylinders arranged front-to-back and coupled to a shared crankshaft. Combined with Kawasaki’s aluminum perimeter frame and AVDS suspension, the KR delivered genuine GP-inspired engineering in a lightweight road-going package.

This example presents in nice original condition and retains its distinctive factory red/white/blue livery and period-correct appearance. An increasingly uncommon motorcycle that stands apart even among collectible 1980s Japanese sport bikes.

Highlights
• Exotic Tandem-Twin 2-stroke engine
• Aluminum perimeter frame chassis
• Iconic mid-1980s Kawasaki GP styling
• Nice original-condition example
• Increasingly rare and collectible

A fundamentally clean and honest motorcycle showing normal cosmetic wear consistent with age and mileage. Presents well overall and retains strong originality.

For enthusiasts seeking something different from the typical RG / RZ / NSR crowd, the KR250S offers a uniquely inventive chapter in the 1980s Japanese 2-stroke era.

Special pre-arrival price includes ocean freight / all USA entry / WA title. Pending shipment from Japan late May for arrival in Seattle, June 2026.
