2003 VW Lupo GTi Trophy Cup – ChoroQ / CRT 2004 25th anniversary car WVWZZZ6EZ3W002231

Background – Choro-Q (チョロQ) were produced by Tokara in Japan from late 1970’s and sold in the USA as Penny Racer. Tokara / Tomy raced the iconic Honda City Turbo in the Mugen / Honda 1-make Honda City Turbo racing series in the mid 1980’s as team CRT (Chroro-Q Racing Team). In subsequent years, CRT campaigned Formula 3 / VW Golf / VW Beetle Cup and in 2004 CRT celebrated 25 years of Choro-Q by campaigning a GT3 in the Japan Cup series; at the 24H of Le Mans in #77 GT3 RSR; as well as this particular Lupo GTi Cup. Not a bad way to celebrate 25th years of the “cute” (kyūto) Choro-Q line.

This is a factory race car with a sealed engine. Runs and drives well and I have as a personal car in Hakone, Kanagawa where it’s perfect for the nearby Skyline roads. Currently around ~97k kilometers – increasing with use.
