The GTI and it’s sister-car the Rallye are standout hot-hatchback with agility and simplicity that you can’t find in modern cars.

The S2 GTi is equipped with DOHC 1.6 producing about 120hp. This example has AC that blows cold / power windows; Momo steering wheel; after-market stereo and Speedline wheels w/ studless snow tires (swapped from Rallye).

With under a tonne to move, the 120hp  liter engine provides lively performance. Hailed in it’s day as an excellent drivers car.

Looks good with very clean body however some clear coat problems here & there. Driver’s seat has been swapped for Recaro hard-back seat. After-market steering wheel. Carpets removed. Lap timer.

Issues – clear coat; tachmeter inoperable; stereo wiring should be cleaned up.

Fun car for the money.
