The AZ-1 was the halo car for Mazda’s Autozam sub-brand which, along with the Honda Beat and Suzuki Cappuccino are affectionately known as the A B C kei-cars.

This Mazda AZ1 – car #325 is now in-stock in Seattle, WA. Last road-registered in Japan in 2010, it has 52k original miles and runs and drives – but some shortcomings.

INTERIOR: Nice seats and dash. No carpets; extensive audio equipment removed; some trim missing. Corrosion behind driver’s seat -and in passenger footwell probably from long-term wet-carpet.

ENGINE: Car runs very well with good power and no leaks or unusual noises (aside from blow-off valve). Surface corrosion from long-term non-use. AC belt removed.

CHASSIS: Good steering and driving dynamics. Shocks shoudl be on the list of upgrades (I have AZ1 KYB Oct. 2017). Brake pads and rear wheel bearings on order and be installed first of October. Currently has very 1990s 3-spoke aftermarket wheels. OZ Racing wheels as well as original wheels available.

BODY:  No signs of accidents. Door struts are weak and need to be replaced. Red paint is faded. Some surface corrosion.

Overall a fun car to drive and with the new brakes / bearings / door-struts will be ready for use. If you prefer a different color or quality level, we can supply from units we have in storage in Japan and in Canada.

The Autozam AZ-1 was best known for its gullwing doors and sporty looks, but it had power to back it up. The turbocharged 660cc engine has power enough to be at home on the highway with a top speed of ~85MPH.
