1982 Toyota Celica GT-TS (TA64) — Group B Homologation Special

Chassis TA64-0000203. One of approximately 200 road-going examples built to homologate Toyota’s Celica Twin Cam Turbo for Group B rally competition.

Developed from the conventional TA63 Celica GT-T, the GT-TS features the special 1,791cc 4T-GTEU twin-cam, twin-plug turbocharged engine, five-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and competition-oriented Salsbury live rear axle with four-link suspension. Other distinctive features include lightweight fiberglass front fenders and model-specific homologation components.

Toyota Team Europe (TTE) developed the TA64 into one of the most successful endurance rally cars of the Group B era, dominating the demanding Safari and Ivory Coast rallies from 1984 through 1986.

This example has approximately 97,600 km (60,600 miles) and retains its original-type 4T-GTEU engine and much of its unique factory equipment. Starts, runs, and drives following long-term storage. Presentable inside and out, with some paint touch-ups and modest age-related underbody corrosion – particularly on exhaust. Further inspection and recommissioning recommended.

An exceptionally rare, historically significant Toyota homologation special, combining straightforward rear-wheel-drive engineering with genuine Group B heritage.

Located in Japan. Additional photographs forthcoming October 2026. Offers invited.
