The 748R represents the homologation evolution of Ducati’s mid-displacement superbike—developed to meet World Supersport requirements and distinguished by its higher-spec engine, revised geometry, and race-focused components.
Compared to the standard 748, the “R” features significant upgrades including a sand-cast crankcase, larger valves, higher-lift cams, and revised fuel injection—delivering sharper performance and a more purposeful riding character. Often regarded as one of the sweetest-handling Ducatis of the era, the 748R combines lightweight feel with classic Tamburini design.
